The Bible, and nothing added to it

We are Christians, and Christians only — not a denomination, and holding to no creed but the Bible. What follows isn’t a statement crafted to set us apart from others; it is simply what the New Testament teaches, and what we strive by God’s grace to follow.

Core convictions

Jesus Christ is the Son of God

His death on the cross and resurrection on the third day reconcile us to God — His blood poured out for the forgiveness of our sins.

All Scripture is inspired by God

The Bible is God’s own word — complete and sufficient, “a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.” Where it speaks, we speak; where it is silent, we are silent.

We have all sinned

Every one of us has fallen short of God’s glory. We cannot earn our way back to Him; we are justified by His grace, through faith in Jesus Christ — an undeserved gift.

The gospel calls for a response

Hearing the good news, we believe in Jesus as the Christ, repent of our sins, confess His name, and are baptized — immersed — for the forgiveness of sins.

Raised to walk in newness of life

Just as Christ was raised, we rise from the waters of baptism a new creation, to live faithfully — faithful even unto death.

The church is Christ’s body — not a denomination

The Lord Himself adds the saved to His one church. We wear His name, follow His pattern, and exist to seek the lost and to build one another up in Him.

We hold to the apostles’ teaching

By God’s grace we commit ourselves to the teaching handed down by the apostles — making disciples, and keeping the commands of our Lord.

Jesus Christ will return

He will come again to claim His own, gathering the body of believers to be with Him for eternity.

How we worship

Each first day of the week we gather to remember the Lord in the Supper, to give as we have prospered, to pray, to study, and to sing. Our singing is a cappella — the congregation’s own voices lifted together in harmony, without instruments, just as the New Testament church sang.
